Cool Quirky Bakery & Coffee House Brand
SAY small-batch artisan doughnuts & coffee house
After a successful first few years, owners Aaron and Sarah had recently received investment to expand SAY from it’s original bakery & cafe into three new locations. Keen to appeal to a wider audience in affluent commuter towns, they wanted to rework the brand identity to roll out across the new retail stores.   
“Let’s take SAY into a grown-up era of the business, allowing it to slot in perfectly within the new, upmarket commuter locations without feeling like the ‘new guy’. We want to be cool and aspirational, but maintain our fun & relatable side of the brand personality (because doughnuts don’t need to be so serious!). A down-to-earth, small-batch attitude will be at the centre of everything we do, serving customers with delicious doughnuts from humble origins in a memorable space they’ll want to visit day after day.”
A clean and simple logo was created, paired with expressive illustrations to inject personality. A hero colour of pistachio green, sits in contrast to a darker shade of green inspired by the victorian tiles found on the exterior of both Say locations. 
The store interiors we kept clean and minimal to allow the doughnuts to be the star of the show. The six large windows provided opportunity to blow the illustrations up extra large making an eye-catching feature for the passer-by. 
POUR THE COFFEE, MAKE THE DOUGH.
A memorable slogan was created by Lucy - inspired by the relentless dedication of the family team behind the brand. A repetition of this across packaging and stationery brings their story and down to earth, hardworking ethos to the forefront of the brand.
